Why Rumi and Jinu are the perfect couple.

First of all, Rumi and Jinu are characters from the movie K-pop Demon Hunters. Rumi is a demon hunter, but as people who watch the movie know, she is also part demon. Jinu is a demon, which at the end of the movie falls in love with Rumi. He actually ends up sacrificing his life for her. Rumi fell in love with Jinu as soon as she saw him, but kept telling herself that she shouldn’t like him since he was a demon. Eventually, throughout the movie, she falls in love too.

Now let’s talk about the animation of the movie. I watched this movie so many times. So I know that the hunters keep a pose for two scenes. While the demons have new pose every scene. I know because I have paused the movie and fast-forward it, and the hunters would still have the same pose, but the demons would have a different. At first, I thought it was a little weird, maybe a mistake. As I continued to watch, at the end of the movie Rumi actually starts to have a new pose every scene too!

She starts to look more free and happy and Jinu’s presence. Jinu starts to open up and for the first time in 400 years question if he can break out of being a demon. As Gwi Ma captured him without his consent. Totaling this essay, in my opinion they should make a sequel of this movie with Rumi and Jinu’s marriage.

Dance

At first, I didn’t want to go to dance practice, but as it continued I grew to like it. At most dance practices, we would start a little late. We also got snacks, ice cream, and sometimes dinner. Dinner consisted of sandwiches, noodles, or pizza. We practiced in the wood room at first, but we eventually moved up to the cafeteria. We had two routines-one with just my group and another with everyone. For the first dance, we used normal fans to dance. On the other hand, for the second, we had to use long fans. They were over 4 feet long! We practiced for about a month and then we had to perform.

On the day of the performance, I woke up at 4:30 AM. I took a shower and got everything ready. I went to church and I got there at 6:20 AM. That was the time the nuns told us to come, but of course I was the first. We reviewed our dances and then we went to change. I got the outfit that said my name. It was written in all capitals, which I thought was weird, but didn’t think much of it. When I went to the bathroom to put it on, it didn’t fit at all! Even though it said my name, the skirt was too long, and the dress was too small and tight. I ran back to the changing room and I told a nun. She said that it was fine and to try this one on and she handed me another dress. I went to try on the dress and it fit perfectly. I think someone accidentally wrote my name on the wrong dress. When I went back, I saw another skirt hanging on the rack that said my name. This one fit even better than the dress. It was just my size. They redid my hair and curled my bangs. They wanted to put makeup on me, but I said “No thank you”. It was very chaotic in the room but in the end, we got everything done. We went to the quad room to practice more after everyone was done. Then we went upstairs to start dancing. Or so I thought. It turns out we were walking the parade around the church first. Then we were dancing. During the first dance, everything went according to plan. On the second dance, some people didn’t have the right fans because we ran out. To make things worse, my hat kept falling off. It was terrible, but it was OK. After the dance, everyone took off their outfits and went home. All in all I would love to dance again.

Gospel Refection

In the gospel this week, it is the parable of the good Samaritan. Basically Jesus was teaching, and this lawyer asked him like what he needs to do to have eternal life. Jesus just asked him the question back and said “What does the law say you have to do?” and the lawyer quoted the Bible and told Jesus how you have to love God with everything you have and loving your neighbor as yourself. So then Jesus confirms that’s correct, but then the lawyer was trying to make himself justified and he asked “But who my neighbor?”.

Jesus replied with the story of a man who was robbed in attack and left dead on the road from Jerusalem to Jericho. A priest and a Levite saw him but they walked past him. I think it was because they thought it was a dead body. But then a Samaritan saw him and decided to help. This was unexpected because the Jews don’t like the samaritans for the differences they have. The Samaritan helped the man go to an inn and he paid for it and his food.

Jesus then asked the lawyer “Which person was a neighbor to the man that was hurt?”

The lawyer replied “The one who showed him mercy.”

Jesus then told him to “Go out and do the same.”

The parable shows the lawyer that neighbor doesn’t just mean the person that lives next to you. It means anyone in need, regardless of who they are. The main idea is about love and care shown through actions, not just words. The Samaritan’s actions show the importance of helping rather than walking away, even when it’s inconvenient or risky.

Summer So Far

Summer is almost over, and I still haven’t done anything that exciting yet. But I’ll be going to Houston soon, and I’m really looking forward to the trip! We’re going for my cousin’s Diaconate Ordination, but we’ll also be doing some shopping and eating lots of good food. It’s happening in less than three weeks.

In August, I’m going on a cruise, and I’m super excited-it’ll be my second one! I went on my first cruise last year, and it was a lot of fun. We are going to Los Cabos again. Last time the food and shows were really fun and I hope they have them this time too. We spent a lot of time in the kids club—well, Irene and I did. Ian went sometimes, but not as often. We even skipped family time just to hang out there after dinner. Looking back, I kind of regret that. This time, I want to be more open to trying other things. The kids club was mostly boring, except when we did crafts. This time I will be in the older kids club and I will be leaving Irene. Now that I’m older, I can check in by myself and leave when I want. I hope I make some friends like last time. Last time, I made a friend from Germany. She liked BLACKPINK and had a tour shirt. I think her name was Melanie or something. She said Rose was her favorite member. This time, I really hope I stay in touch with any new friends I meet. Overall, I can’t wait for summer to finally feel like it’s started.

Ghost Girl

Oh great. Another family is coming. I wonder how long they’ll last—the record so far is only a month. They’re on a tour, so I have to scare them. Dang, I was just starting to get comfy.

Here comes the introductions, “Hello, I’m Ivanna. I died here in a house fire in 1915. They built this house over my house”.

But of course no one hears me. “Oh my gosh! There’s a kid—just like me!” Well technically I’m 125, but who’s counting?

Here we go again, “Hello, I’m Ivanna. What’s your name?” I hate being trained to be polite.

“Did you guys hear that?”

Wait—what? He can actually hear me! This is about to be fun.

“Stay” I whisper scarily.

He jumps. “Whoa!”

His parents are too distracted by the beautiful house to notice. I introduce myself once again and stand in front of him, extending my hand out. To my surprise, he actually sticks his hand out and tries to shake my hand. He could see me too!

The next week they move in. The house only has two massive bedrooms, so I lead him to mine and tell him we can share.

“I’ll stay on one side of the bedroom and you’ll stay on the other side.”

He gives me a weird look, and I say “What—you’ve never shared a room with a ghost before?”

He says no. I ask him if he wants to go into town tomorrow and he agrees. Bright and early the next morning, I wake him up with the scream I used during the fire. I go downstairs while he gets ready. He tosses me a waffle as we head out the door.

“I never got your name,” I say, curious.

“Oh, I’m Brian,” he replies.

Brian was my older brother’s name. Memories of the fire flood back… I shake my head violently.

“What happened?” Brian asked.

“Nothing,” I reply with a forced smile.

I show him around town and introduce him to my other ghost friends. Even though he can hear them, he can’t see them. At the end of the day we hug, of course he was just hugging an air mass though.

“You remind me of my brother, his name was also Brian” I tell him reminiscent.

“Wow, I’m honored” He smiled.

That night, for the first time in over a century, I sleep peacefully. I think I’ve finally found peace.

Under My Bed

It all happened on my eighth birthday. You see, I have a little reading area under my bed equipped with a flashlight, snacks and all of my favorite comics. It even had a perfect little bed skirt, covering the space from the bed to the ground. I had a little habit of sneaking under there every night after my parents tucked me in and said goodnight. I got so good at hiding that I would immediately drop everything and slide into my bed if I heard even a footstep.

One night, I was so deeply engrossed in a spiderman comic that I couldn’t react fast enough. By the time my mom’s head poked in, I was still under my bed clutching my comic. I saw my mom’s feet walk towards my bed, and I was just trying to breathe as quietly as possible. I almost expected her to poke her head under the bed, and to start yelling at me for eating upstairs. Instead I heard her pull back the covers and scream, this terrible bird screeching noise. She bolted down the stairs, almost gasping for air. “John! John, Alex is gone!”, I hear my mother scream yet again. My dad replies by running upstairs to my room and scanning his eyes around it.

He dialed 911. While mom runs outside to all our neighbors houses, asking if they’ve seen me. Two hours later, police have searched every crack of our house 4 times. But no one ever thought to check under my bed. Mom is leading a search party with a local detective, and our neighbors. And me? I’ve been surviving under my bed with a box of almost empty Oreos and a strong urge to pee.

After thirty more minutes, I couldn’t take it anymore. I timidly crawled out of under the bed. I slowly made it to the living room, where police were questioning my parents. I croak out “Hi, everyone” to my parents, officers and my neighbors, my voice straining from dehydration. My dad just stands there in disbelief, while my mom runs towards me crying, asking and yelling all at once. After police and neighbors leave, I finally get to go pee. I guess the moral of the story is to go pee before you hide under your bed at night. 😉

Why you should let me watch “ The Summer I Turned Pretty” a series on Prime Video

“The Summer I Turned Pretty” is a fun, romance infused drama intended for ages 10 and up. I have read the whole series multiple times and have loved it. Now you probably are not aware that there is a television remake of the popular book series. With the only problem being that the show is rated 15+. I have been contemplating on this number until I realized that the book might have had some curse words and kisses. I most likely assume that those two reasons are the only possible reasons why the rating is that high. With that being put into perspective, this is an example of the real world and I have already been exposed to those curse words at Lavang. So if this is the setting inside a church building, who knows what will happen outside of that building?

Let us also remember that I have even watched some k-dramas with you, so I am not an inexperienced watcher. The original creator of this series is Korean and she is also one of my favorite authors. I also have read multiple romance books from the library, so I am also an experienced reader. In my eyes, this can even turn into a posed learning opportunity. Perhaps making a chart to compare and contrast between the book and the movie.

All in all, I would like you to consider this new opportunity for me. And to realize that letting me watch this one show, would broaden my horizons and understandings greatly. Thank you for reading my opinion on this topic.
